Inoyatova Gulchekhra is a member of an extended family of Tajik musicians, and at the age of seven she entered the Republican Music School in Dushnabel. After graduating in 1975 she entered the piano department of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory in the class of Professor L. Roschina. After graduating in 1980 she returned to Tajikistan, where she was eventually promoted to the position of Head of the Department of Tajik State Institute of Arts. In 2000 she became head of the Tambov State Musical and Pedagogical Institute, followed by her position in 2003 with the Xi’an Conservatory of Music (China) and then in 2010 to her current position at the School of Music of South China Normal University in Guangzhou City. Performances include appearances with orchestras in Russia, Latvia, CIS countries, concerts in Germany, Latvia, Moldova, Czech Republic, China, Hungary and other countries in Asia and Europe.  She has performed many works of Tajik composers written between 1980 and 2000.  In Kazakhstan she was awarded the medal “Astana” by President Nazarabayev. She has performed in concert halls of Riga, Bishkek, Prague and Moscow.  She received awards for her teaching several times. She has participated and conducted master classes in Russia, Tajikistan, Germany and adjudicated competitions in China, Russia, Hong Kong, the USA and several Asian countries.
