Xiying Cecilia Huang was born in China and started studying piano at age three. She has performed in numerous recital halls in South China, including the Xinghai concert hall in Guangzhou, South China Normal University, and Zhaoqing University. After earning a B.A. in Piano Performance under Professor Lingyun Yang at South China Normal University, she continued graduate study at the University of Hull in the U.K., earning her M.M. degree with noted Russian pianist, Professor Irina Glushenkova. There, she collaborated with the Hull University Orchestra in concerto performances and took part in several international piano festivals, including the 2007 Grace Blake Piano Festival, where she received first class honor certification in master classes.. Since graduation, Cecilia has devoted her time to performance and teaching piano to British-born Chinese students. Due to her outstanding contribution to Chinese culture and communication in the UK, she was invited to perform a concert in the Hull City Town Hall by the Mayor in 2008. Cecilia is currently a Lecturer and Director of Foreign Affairs in the School of Music at South China Normal University and is a member of the Canton Piano Association.
