Minsun Yoon was born in Seoul and studied at the Seoul Arts Yewon Middle School, Seoul Arts High School, and Ewha Womens’ University in Seoul, Korea. She was awarded prizes from many major competitions in Korea, such as the Samick Competition. After studying in Korea, she moved to Austria and received a Diploma from Die Universitaet fuer Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna, Austria. Professor Yoon then studied in Germany and graduated from the Hochschule fuer Musik und Theater (Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy) in Leipzig where she finished the Konzertexamen with highest marks.

Professor Yoon was invited to perform in Vienna and Salzburg, Austria and  in Bayreuth, Cottbus, Weimar, Berlin, Koeln, and Bonn, Germany. She has performed with the Jena Philharmonic Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestra Altenburg-Gera, the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Orchestra and at the world-renowned Gewandhaus concert hall.

After returning to Korea, Minsun performed at the Seoul Arts Center and as soloist with several orchestras, including the Busan Philharmonic Orchestra, Busan Senior Symphony Orchestra, the In-Korea Symphony Orchestra, the Changwon Philharmonic, and the Trouvere Chamber Orchestra. Yoon was invited to perform a duo-recital in Xian Province in China and gave recitals and masterclasses at Nagoya University of Arts and the Chiba Cultural Center in Japan, and also in Berlin, Germany.  In addition to solo performance, Professor Yoon collaborates in duo-piano concerts, chamber music performance, and vocal accompaniment. 

Minsun Yoon was a past president of the Gyungnam Piano-Duo Association in Gyungnam Province in Korea. Currently, she is Head of the Department of Music at Changshin University in Changwon, Korea, where she combines an active performing career with teaching and administrative work.
